Description
Yes, thank you "captain obvious" for your sharp remark. I doubt that I would have noticed that by myself.Well, I have installed some mods to my Skyrim recently and along with others there came this "Barbarian armor" set as well. I usually prefer realistic armors and mods so I think that calling this outfit as an armor is a "bit" stretching. But you know those barbarians... wearing only loincloths and heavy axes in any situation so let's forgive them in this matter too.
The "funny" thing was that as I was playing with my latest character Isobell and as I just put that barbarian armor set on for the first time, there came this Whiterun guard and said those exact words. Good timing if any.
And as I know that there are those among my regular visitors who haven't played Skyrim, I explain Isobells answer a bit. "Arrow to the knee" - is an overused joke among Skyrim fans and refers to the town guards who more than once tell to player that: "I used to be an adventurer like you, then I took an arrow in the knee...". Judging by the fact that almost all guards tell this to player over and over again, it must be an requirement to apply as a town guard.
I could have made the guard to say something else too like: "Let me guess, someone stole your breastplate", which would have been a slightly modified version of an actual guard quote: "Let me guess, someone stole your sweetroll." But I wanted to stay with the actual game situation.

"Take an arrow to your knee, become a town guard."
That should be the official slogan of the Skyrim guards.

Apparently going around half naked is proper armor... Who would attack a woman wearing nothing

I think you have solved the puzzle.
And how can we men defeat you female adventurers anymore if you start to use this "weakness" of ours more widely?

Barbarian 'Armor' should distract the opponent, I guess... Truth to be told, this is a lot of potential targets instead of anything protective.

Yeah, it's very "distracting" if nothing more and I have some plans to make another short strip about it. We shall see if I will do it sometimes.
Well, your forearms, legs and hips have some protection but that's about it. All other "targets" are widely revealed.

Belly, thighs, upper arms, neck and head, these areas are quite vulnerable to wounds... never understood the urge for distractive armor over proper armor. *shrugs*
Comic sounds good!

It's just that we men like to look the divine shapes of females... and those bulky armors would hinder our view. And to be fair there is a helmet in that barbarian armor set. I just left it out to show Isobells face.
Yep, but you are right. When it comes to games and more serious fantasy, I always want to have realistic armors for women too. Armor can be "feminine" and good looking but its first priority is to offer protection.
I think that those distractive armors are there to please the biggest customer base, teenage boys. (No offence if you happen to belong in that group)

I actually prefer the look of a well-made female breastplate over the look of a nude body... but that's just my thing. ^^
Armor is made to protect... and as warrior you need something to protect you, one can't dodge every hit. In theory, I know of at least one fighter who one a fight 27 - 0, he scored 27 hits and took not a single one.
No offence taken, as I said, I prefer solid armor over skimpy dresses or chainmail-bras.
