That's one diligent watcher, sitting long enough for the birds to nest. Somehow his headgear reminds me a bit of the game Ico, what with the lead role being a boy with horns. Nice presence here, would be interesting to see a more elaborate background/environment though.

thanks, I've watched on Google image 'Ico' , and the helmet look-alike , indeed ( without bird) . When I did it , I thought a bit of JamiroquaΓ― logo
For environment, you are true. I just don't have the patience for them lastly. ( well, I do too much commission landscape commercially those last weeks )

Beautiful concept and composition. The expression, the headgear, the nest and the birds.... how do you come up with such elements? Does it automatically form a picture in your head before you start drawing or you do first have to think it out?

Hey Mishrito,
Thanks for the comment. No, I never have the final picture in mind, I have a picture, but it's far from this. My imagination is good enough for the general image composition , pose of character and stylisation of face. But not a lot for the design details.
For the design and clothes / ideas ; a lot come on the way to draw. I just try to make the area of my drawing less boring, and explore my own taste. Thats keep me awake when I draw/paint.

J'aime beaucoup! Le design du perso est amusant, et l'image en gΓ©nΓ©ral est impressionante (surtout le rendu des textures - waw!)
Bon courage en Italie -ou plutot, vu la date, j'espère que tout s'est bien passé! ^^

Hey about Mac port of Krita, I have no news 'for sure' , but I saw a developper last days on Krita forum experimenting to make Krita on it. So it's probably not so far. Now, the next question will be about the quality ; if it's only an experimental portage... But well, still a nice starting point.

Indeed. I'm still kind of disappointed at the quality of the mac MyPaint build, but it's better than non at all.

Oh, true ! Too bad.
I would love to meet other D.A. artist on my workshops.
A workshop in UK? that would be cool. ( except for exhibiting my frenchy frog accent )

Haha! I'm fairly sure I heard you speaking at least in one tutorial (or anyway, some sort of video) and you were perfectly understandable.
Besides, over here they all tell me MY accent is all cute and stuff, so I get the impression they just like how continental Europeans sound like.

What a beautiful piece of character design, and nicely rendered, too. The birds nest is a sweet touch.

Hey, David, I was wondering, if you can do a screen capture of the lag in GIMP you're talking about. I'm curious to see how much it lags.

Deevad In reply to johnnydwicked [2012-10-08 14:28:16 +0000 UTC]
Thx
For the lag, You can read the thread on bugzilla [link] ( long but it's tell all about , and videos are posted in context ) , the work is 'in progress' but really promising.

thanks for the link. I'll be sure to check out how laggy GIMP 2.8 on linux is.
I'm still waiting for the official Krita windows port. OOOO, Krita just looks so amazing to use especially that mirror feature which I only could create using Alchemy or erase half of a drawing and mirror it for the time being.
