The game definitely has addictive elements such as levelling up and challenges to unlock camo patterns and attachments for your weapons. Most of the completed challenges can be shown off as "titles" and "emblems" in your "callsign card", such as the bulletproof shield challenges, which require an ABSURD amount of time while using EXCLUSIVELY the shield (roughly reaching the max level FIVE times normally).

On the other hand, the game is an imbalance incarnate. There is no reason not to throw all of your stun grenades before entering an area, shoot your underbarrel grenade launcher point-blank in your emeny's nuts, and then switch to your akimbo Glock 18 (which isn't even a 18, corrected later in MW3) and proceed to kill snipers with it from afar. Unfortunately, this was THE game (sometimes replaced with Left 4 Dead 2) we played with classmates after school.

Now we're not classmates anymore, but we still meet IRL and play World of Tanks.
