Download for Full ResolutionThis was a bit different than what I am used to.
By using the original sprite as a reference, [link] this is what I came up with.
I still suck at forming clouds but that's nothing new.
Done in Photoshop CS2
I wonder what it would be like to live on something like this.
EDIT: Completely redid the clouds.

Probably a little on the cool side- it's been mentioned that Angel Island is in a "low orbit" of about eight miles above sea level. At that height the temperature is usually well below -15 Celsius.
Of course, reality aside, there are tropical jungles AND snowy peaks on the Island, so... IDK XD

It's pretty good. From a distance it looks the same as in game (by memory). Love the incorporation of the pyramids. Is that a Marble Zone top or Sky Sanctuary building? Thinking Sky Sanctuary. Guess that's ice cape zone on the left side of the image, wrapping around to the other side of the mountain. Looks funny where the greenery suddenly cuts off and turns into the rocky outcrop of the underside of the straight of an edge. Too ... linear. Got to make it look like foliage is hanging over and stuff. Looks too sharp and straight.

It would be awesome to live up on that island. It's peaceful, lots of places to explore and venture and if you have someone you love, this is a great place for a date or even for a honeymoon. But that's just me.

Well done! If SEGA actually did a CGI Movie... I would highly nominate you to work on it. Hell I wonder if Eddie Lebhron has seen this yet, because I'm damn sure he could use this talent.
