i agree! the calm serenity in both pics, as well as the swords and the strong personalities, they all resonate similarly to create a calm-in-chaos feeling

Cute and epic. I like it, except for the excessive segmentations in the armor over the hand.

Love all the colors. You've tragically isolated her very effectively. It's strange that I can feel good about saying that. :s
But overall, amazing!

As you wanted, the simplicity does focus on the character. There's a great reflective mood.
Great proportions, and fantastic light and shade particularly on the armor.
The subdued colour of the mountains is great, and very realistic.

Her most heroic deed, in my view, was the way she stood up to her inquisitors at her trial! She made fools of all of them!!

...I really appreciate that she ins't... what's the word.. in some heroic pose, it's nice that it's just.. a reflective moment, it really makes one wonder what she's thinking.
Congrats on the DD, by the way ouo b

actually... we call it the same thing here as the europeans do... strange fact: it actually lasted approximately 116 years long lol.

i'm pretty sure joan of arc lived long before that. but there are quite a few wars who are named after years and numbers so i guess i can kind of understand.

Joan got a totally raw deal. And now gets it again, being depicted by hollywood on not the best of lights. If you see the movie.

It's so lovely to see a historical figure like her, who has usually been depicted valiantly swinging her sword out on the battlefield, so modestly. She's beautiful.
