Description
This was a different pose for me, but something about it looked like a lot of fun - and it was, of course. The ref does not belong to me - however, I simply can't find it. How I didn't remember to save it, I don't know.
This is a 9x12, drawn with HB - 8B pencils.

Man, where to start this comment? With the dramatic pose and the rolling eye? With the intricately detailed tack, right down to the tiny stitches warping with the curve of the leather? With the fine details of the skin of the muzzle? I don't even know where to start with this pic, because it's bloody fantastic everywhere I look I kind of wish you could find the ref, just so I could see if there are more of this gorgeous horse. Fantastic work!

Wow, you know how to make the peanut gallery feel appreciated! No joke, that's the nicest reply I've had in all my time on dA. So thank you
I'm just glad if I can help you appreciate your own artwork as much as the rest of us do. Because if you hadn't noticed, you're just a wee bit talented with this whole drawing lark!

Aw, thank you! I do paint a little; I'm currently taking lessons with oil. I like it a lot - though I've started a portrait, and I'm not sure if that'll turn out.
We'll see.

welcome Sounds good!
I have wanted to try oil because it is supposed to blend good but also it dries so slooooooooow

Yeah, it takes forever to fully dry. But I really like working with it - apparently acrylics are really frustrating because they dry so fast and don't blend after that. I don't know, though, since I've never tried them. I don't think I could ever work with watercolors, since you can't cover anything up. You made a mistake, it's gonna stay there.

Acrylics can be frustrating at times but there is a tihng one can buy to make them dry slower or just like me mix them with some water Also watercolour is true I'm still new with that so I usually do a pencil sketch to follow. Also to build up in layers or to make mistakes a part of the picture can work

I heard from one artist that he tried the product that was supposed to slow it down, and it just didn't work the way he wanted it to... I'm almost afraid to try anything else now!
Haha - very true.

Is this really a drawing?
I think itΒ΄s a wonderful work
How long do you take for this?
And since when do you practice?

Hee hee - than you! Well, this one took about one whole day. So... over eight hours, I think. I, of course, practice all the time. Every drawing - whether it's detailed or just a scribble - give me valuable practice.
