This was drawn for 's contest, "Horses of the World".
This is the medieval warhorse, used in a time when horses were used for everything - travel, farming, competing, fighting. This was a time where the horse was not just a plaything for the rich or a sport to enjoy on the weekends; they were survival. This picture features not a particular breed (though I believe this horse is a Friesian) so much as the spirit of the past and what these horses meant.
