Description This is mt concept on the appearance of the monitor of Installation 06 might be. Took a bit of messing around on Photoshop to finally get the color I wanted for his 'eye', but I finally got it and figured out not only how to get rid of all the blue on this photo for this use, but how to grayscale the selection (I couldn't figure out how to do that before). I must say, that I am quite please with how it turned out, though.

Exploring deeper into the tradition used in naming the monitors, you might notice a pattern when you look at 343 Guilty Spark, 2401 Penitent Tangent, and 16807 Contrite Stimulus in that order. Two patterns, actually. The first pattern is their number which, as explained on Halopedia, is the number 7 to the power of the number o the installation they monitor minus one (704-1 =73 = 343, 705-1 = 74 = 2401, and 706-1 = 75 = 16807). The second pattern is the word part of the name which, judging by Guilty Spark and Penitent Tangent's names, always include an adjective having to do with being guilty to shameful about one's actions followed by a noun having to do with an instigation. In this case, Contrite Stimulus. Both of these patterns were painfully obvious and pretty cool, so I used them.
I've recently been inspired once again to write my Halo fanfiction as well, but I'd like watcher's opinions on whether I should continue my Halo 4 fanfic, or if I should start on a new one that takes place, possibly with much less interference of the Covenant, in Installation 06 and the surrounding solar systems. What do you think?

nice... I like that shade of yellow on the Monitor's eye. Very interesting factoid about Monitors! And they are the most annoying characters I've met in a video game... your fanfic sounds interesting!

Thanks!
The factoid was actually borrowed from Halopedia's article on Monitors .

Epic sauce. :3 I know I'm not on much, but if you need Photoshop help, shoot me a line and I'll see what I can do to help. :3 As for the image, lovely color modification. I think you should continue your fanfic, though I don't think I've ever seen it. o3o Maybe I wasn't paying attention? Hmm. Maybe even the little twist you're describing about taking place in other systems without the Covenant would be an epic choice too. X3 Either way, you should use this and the other monitor in the stories.

I usually figure out what I need within a few Google searches, but I'd be happy to send requests to you if I can't seem to find them.

You must have read them. You commented on them. o.O
I actually have a better idea where I could use the Legendary ending of Halo 3 to incorporate both the new Halo rings and the Master Chief, either have been sent back in time or sent to a parallel universe, though the parallel universe thing probably won't be used. I'd like to elaborate the story even more by using parallel timelines instead. But first, I think I'd better read some of the books, research a crapload on Halopedia (which I've already been doing. I've completed knowledge on the Halo rings, the Ark, several vehicles, weapons, planets, and now I'm working on finding the name of the Flood's extragalactic homeworld), and actually play the first two games all the way through. Believe it or not, I've only played Halo: CE for a good ten minutes, and didn't often play any other level on Halo 2 other than Metropolis and some Multiplayer maps. I didn't even know about 2401 Penitent Tangent until just a few weeks ago. XD

XD Wow. Halo and Halo 2 are, in my opinion, a lot better storywise than Halo 3. I used to think it was the other way around, but after having played through the entire series with my boyfriend, I realize now that Halo 3 is a considerable let down. Halo 1 had a ton of good game play and Halo 2 had the best story and a bunch of better levels since you get to play as the Arbiter.

o3o I commented on them? Wow. It's been quite awhile since I've done anything on DA other than watch the front page.

I agree Halo 2 had the best storyline, though I've only played (and remember) up until The Oracle. Once I have enough money, I'm going to order Halo: CE and Halo 2, unless I get them for my birthday.
I've read a good forty pages on Halopedia on certain important things over the past two or three days, though. After reading all 6100 pages, I should know just about all there is to know about Halo, and should be safe with my fanfic.

Go to a used game store. They might have it. I got both the first and second Halos on the Xbox for a decent price. Even found the Limited Edition of Halo 2 for like $25. Good condition on the box and had the manual and extra insert as well.

Halo: CE is on amazon.com new for $10, and used for just $3. I think H2 Legendary is $50 new and about $15 used or something like that.

I got my Limited Halo 2 for $25 and it had everything in it. Well, everything that I know of anyway. But I also said that already. X3 Shop around. You may find better prices elsewhere.

I'll try GameStop next time I get off my lazy but and go into town. XD But I think I'll wait to see if I get it for my birthday first. I'm hoping more so to get the Pre-order for Halo: Reach, though. I want that awesome new halo 3 Elite Armor. It looks epic.

That's what I've heard. I saw someone post a picture of it in one of the groups I'm in and an explanation saying it can be acquired by preordering a copy of Halo: Reach. I don't know if it's true or not, but I'm planning on getting Halo: Reach before it comes out anyway, so we'll see.

I'm actually probably not going to get it either... My parents are trying to neutralize my obsession with the Halo franchise. Of course, at least half of my birthday wishlist is asking for Halo items, so we;ll see what they get me.
