Link was pretty fun to do.
I wanted to make him older than he really was in the first game, just because it makes more sense. So instead of being 14 or younger, I made him look more like 17 or 18. Not a big gap of ages, but a couple of years make all the difference.
Oh, and i left out his shield for two reasons.
1.It didn't really fit anywhere.
2. Maybe the Like-Like in my previous pictures ate it. Which would explain why there's one in his stomach.
Well, I have one more character left, Princess Zelda.

I like younger link better than I used to when I had done this. I just thought that the time that a more realistic take on the series would be interesting.

Ever think about applying this art style to the original metroid?

I have, but the thing with Metroid is that there wasn't much variety in the enemies. They all looked like bugs. Some of them were unique, but most of them looked pretty generic. I love the atmosphere to the game, and for some reason, I love the graphics to the original, I plan on doing some metroid stuff somewhat soon.

have you thought about any other nes titles that made it big such as mega man 1-6? or castlevania/gng/etc?

I don't know, I thought about how it would be cool to do Castlevania, Kid Icarus or even Super Mario bros, but these projects take a lot of time to do, and I've been meaning to get other projects finished that I've been meaning to complete for a while.
I am however currently doing GNG, I have 5 characters left to do, you can find them in the Ghosts n Goblins folder on the side of my gallery.

That small shield he used didn't deflect too much more than simple rocks and arrows anyway. This is a very nice rendition.

Yeah, you've done justice to this character. I like the fact that you've shown him carrying all the items but adding the shield would just seem to overdo it in my opinion. Good job as always, I hope you keep drawing for a long time hence

He looks absolutely amazing. I agree with the fact that he should be about 17 or 18 in the first game rather than 14 or 15 because it just makes more sense. Kinda like that whole 10 year old pokemon trainer thing... Like a young child would be sent off on a quest far away from home to battle adult tyranny and whatnot...

Is he not important enough? I think he's pretty iconic. He's the first person you see in the game and he is one of the few people you see in the game.

I'm sure he's a pretty important character, but I'm not sure if he's the same guy who appears all throughout the game. You find old men in dungeons quite frequently.
Also, I've been working on this project for well over a couple of months now, I don't really want to do anymore after Zelda, unless I get a commission to do so.

This again, is pretty cool. You could have defined the face more in my opinion though, since it is a focal point. It's a tad too wide, you can tell that from where the ear is positioned, and his profile looks way too flat. The arm holding the arrow looks awkward, but I can't put my finger on the reason. Also I think his legs are spread a bit too far, it's like doing a split, haha.
But the design is nice! I can see a magic flute in there, haha. I was always mad in love with the pics where link was actually carrying the stuff he has, instead of just magically shoving them in his ass or something. It just looks more practical, and I like that.
Looking forward for Zelda! I redesigned her based off 1 & 2 myself a few years ago, ought to draw her one of these days.
