The Mecha-Führer himself from Id Software's iconic predecessor to Doom, Wolfenstein 3D. For 's ongoing community project. You can claim a game character from any game, but the only catch is that once a character has been claimed, only that person is allowed to create fanart for said character. Thought to pick one that I'm sure nobody else would have dibs on!

When I had seen this, I immediately went to think "Doom. This has to be from Doom".

It was the only game I could think of that would ever come up with a character like this (especially since I had played some of the early Dooms before). I adore the insane, morbid humor the whole series has.
Forgot to mention, though, wonderful work on the fanart. You captured his likeness perfectly. The character is so off-the-wall and obscure, that he definitely would have been the last thing people would think to draw fanart for.

Oh, for sure. Those guys at Id Software knew how to make really memorable characters. Their games are just so metal for lack of a better word, they're badass, but incredibly goofy at the same time in retrospect, and its that combo that makes their characters so good and longlasting.

Again, I know the stigma. But that still doesn't change that this is a fan piece of a game with goofy characters in it.
Honestly though, if you don't care for it or think my image is offensive, you have the right to ignore it instead of trying to make me feel guilty for something. I'm not trying to trivialize Hitler or his history with this, and don't need to be filled in on how evil he was. It's not like I'm turning Hitler into a superhero or shedding good light on the man, in fact, the character from the game is an exaggeration of quite the opposite. Sure, it's goofy, but it's an even more pumped up version of the supervillian that he essentially was.

You could say that Hitler was very well respected by intellectuals as well as some excellent artists (I could even name some nazi-sympathizers who I admire as illustrators and were amazingly talented). You're only trying to brag and it doesn't impress me. I've been on here for almost ten years, have a couple of daily deviations, have veteran illustrators as friends and so on... It doesn't mean anything in the context of this argument. You never even explained why it was offensive. Depicting Hitler doesn't make it automatically offensive. This may sound unsympathetic, but don't dwell on the past. You're not the only one with Jewish heritage in your family. I have it too, just as many people do, but it doesn't deeply offend mine when you bring up anything regarding this monster. When you try and erase a figure or events out of history (something that happens when you don't want to see depictions of Hitler anywhere), it trivializes them and that's something I find offensive and disrespectful. You can't just up and forget such events. Hitler serves as a chilling reminder if anything else, of how not to act or to not let such people come into positions of power.
I'm not depicting him in anything resembling a good light or as a hero, it's an exaggeration of his super-villainy and a caricature of his evil. It's a pop culture character, not a statement, nor a jab. It's nothing new. It's not shocking. It's not even all that original. It's not offensive.
You can't tell me to not respond. You're the one who made a big deal out of something you could've very well simply ignored. I'm merely defending my choices, and especially if you make such a passive aggressive statement without commenting about the art itself (something I took time and dedication to create for a craft I'm passionate about), I'm going to contest you on it.
