Description
Been wanting to do a fanart of Clock Tower: The First Fear for a while, and since you guys voted for it in my 'pick a game' journal, I finally got around to doing something.I used the likeness of Jennifer Connelly, as that's who the main character is based off of, as well as the movies she starred in. More specifically the horror films of italian director, Dario Argento.
Clock Tower was a game ahead of its time on the SNES and is far creepier in atmosphere than modern titles. The game revolves around the orphan Jennifer and her friends as they are adopted by the Barrows family. The Barrows household isn't what it seems to be and Jennifer is forced to survive the terrors that await, including the owner's monster of a son, Bobby, who wields a giant pair of scissors.

Nice one.
Clock Tower is certainly an interesting piece of history that not a lot of people were aware of.
(I've heard the subsequent games that did get localized were pretty bad.)
The game sure is clunky nowadays but it has a great atmosphere (and its clunkiness sort of adds to the "I'm nearly helpless" effect).

Thanks man!
Sure is, It may be due in part that it was released toward the later years of the SNES lifespan, as wellas being released only in Japan.
I agree, the clunkiness helps add to the urgency of the game, which sounds weird, but you have to work harder to beat it due to it being clunky.

Oh of course, the biggest reason it's unheard of is that it was only released in Japan. Which is a shame.
But it's neat to see fan translations.
And well at least it's a little more functional than Maniac Mansion on NES.

It's a shame, but I'm glad some games are obscure, the authenticity is left better intact, but they do deserve wider releases.
Haha, yeah. That game can be frustrating.
