Description
Alternative title: Get Out, I Have to Go to My Mind CabSherlock on the way to Bart's coming up with the plan for his fall. I love the idea of him being so caught up in his own cleverness and the brilliance of it all before realizing that---oh right, other people have feelings and are going to think I'm dead. At least, I'd like to think that thought occurred to him. Maybe it didn't.
I went with the largely prevailing internet theories on how he pulled off the fall--- a network of a few discreet people, something out of John's sight to break his fall, and the rubber ball to stop his pulse.
I had to put in the brush-off of Simon & Garfunkel's hit because ever since reading about the pulse-stopping trick, I've had "Red Rubber Ball" stuck in my head. Though upon thinking about it, it would make a great song for John to get all mopey over.
"You never cared for secrets I'd confide;
To you I'm just an ornament, something for your pride.
Always running, never caring, that's the life you lived.
Stolen minutes of your time were all you had to give."
John, quit being so emo! That song is on my "Feel Good" playlist!
As with my other pieces, please credit and link back to my DevArt page if you post this anywhere else.

This. This is utterly brilliant.
I mean, this is a visual concept of what Sherlock's brain goes through every time he comes up with a plan or makes a deduction.
And it is sssssssssoooo much better than the three or four lines of white text and bullet points we get on screen.

I love the way you show all the train of thoughts in a visually intriguing but still easy to follow way. Very beautiful piece, I love it!

That sounds about right, he's kind of inconsiderate but I don't think it's fault, I just think he has a poor theory of mind. I think it's the same reason that he'll yell at an inappropriate time or will say something rude, because he doesn't really know any different. I have a feeling he wouldn't even think about how John would feel.

I'm sure it did occur to him, at least when he was having his final phone conversation with John…

Ooh, and I just remembered -- there was that conversation with Molly in the lab, where she noticed that Sherlock looked sad whenever he thought John wasn't watching. Still, he does have a habit of forgetting about things like other people's feelings when he's solving a puzzle, so it's entirely possible he "deleted" John's feelings while trying to create the actual plan.

It's beautiful!
And so awesome brilliant!
And dreadful sad...
Just as Sherlock. You're sure your surname isn't Holmes?

Thank you! And no, pretty sure there's no Holmes in my family history...
