You had the same idea like me I see. Very very good the clouds and dragon. I think about replacing the stick with a spear. This is a fight I would like to watch. The girl would wait, because she had to hit the beast on the right spot or she would fail her task. So she aimed and in the right moment her spear entered the middle of the dragons belly.
A loud roar, the body is twitching and bending, the girl pulls her sword out. The spear stuck deep into the dragon. When the beast is attacking she grabs the spear, pushing it deeper.
It is arching back and rearing, the girl is turning the spear around, then letting it go.
The dragon attacks again and the girl grabs the spear, pushing it more deeper and is using it to hold the dragon while using her big sword to gore the beast belly. After many stabs the beast is bleeding and is giving up and rolling down the mountain.
