This is a self-portrait I did a number of years ago in my painting class. It is Oil on panel from direct observation. I am glad I took a pic because I painted over it...Related content

Yeah someone was changing the lighting in the studio and I couldn't paint there. So I painted over it and did it in my apartment. I wish I still had it.

Sure you can, it took me a few painting classes to be able to work the stuff around and make it do what I wanted it to. I just takes patience and effort to be able to really slow down at times and do more looking than painting so you can figure stuff out. Then you can go nuts with it, it is a forgiving medium.
