Given her more anxious, quiet, and, if you will, ‘shy’ nature, she is not a fan of a lot of eyes being on her, so she would hate being a performer. Additionally, she doesn't believe she has any significant talent. She uses her physical strength to her advantage and helps around as a worker, helping set up tents and stages, lift things, etc.

She hated it. Arceus, she hated it so much. The worst part was, she wasn’t entirely sure why she hated it, she just knew that she did. It wasn’t their fault, but was it her fault? She didn’t know. All she knew was that she hated people touching her. Not hitting, not hurting in any way, she just hated people touching her, feeling their hands on her shoulders or arms around her in an embrace. Even the kisses her parents would give her every night when they put her to bed, or the simple feeling of someone brushing past her in a busy crowd. She hated it so much, but no one would listen to her or believe her…

Jacq has terrible haphephobia and enochlophobia, the fear of touch and the fear of crowds, respectively. One day, her family had forced her to go with them to a circus that had just rolled into town, but this did not help her, as she quickly slipped into a panic attack at the sight and touch of so many people in the tightly knit crowds. After she had escaped the smothering mass of strangers and hid in a seemingly vacant tent, she had bumped into a shady looking Darkrai, and began to sob violently. He asked what was wrong, if there was anything that he could do to help her, any one wish he could grant her to stop her tears from flowing. She spoke it almost immediately, a whisper. Then, everything changed.

As a result of her wish, the multiple thorns that lined her body extended into extremely sharp points, able to cut skin with the slightest of touches. Along with this, her finger claws turned razor sharp, and her skin hardened to withstand her newly gained defenses, and lost the ability to feel the touch of others.

Due to difficult recent happenings, Jacqueline's personality has changed - and probably for the worse. No longer the polite and caring woman she once was, Jacqueline is now a lot more desensitized to the world around her. She's blunt and distant, not as open-minded or social as she was before. She doesn't want to care about the people she meets, because she doesn't find interest in making friends anymore. She'd rather keep quiet and to herself, away from anyone other than her closer friends. She's lost her shy trait in favor of a more rude and antisocial personality.

When she is spoken to by a stranger, she may seem rather quick or detached from the conversation, as she'd probably do whatever she can to escape the social interaction. She does have manners, just chooses not to use them. With that being said, she's still very respectful towards those she admires, such as musicians or superiors (with the exception of Mr. Dark). She's grown to care less about the feelings of someone she's talking to, and because she's not interested in friendship, that's why she's so plainly rude - but there can still be times where she feels guilty for acting the way she does, as she's not entirely heartless.

Towards friends, she's a lot more like her old self: playful, friendly, and caring. She opens up more readily. She's also very protective, and while she might not be as quick to throw a punch, she will still do whatever she possibly can to ensure her friends remain out of harms way. Still, she's reluctant to allow anyone to get to the point of friendship with her, and it's very hard to gain her trust. Not necessarily because she can't feel trust, but moreso she doesn't want to. As well, she doesn't want people to rely on her, or care for her. She's always worried about hurting others, physically or emotionally - she may be rude to keep you away, but that's more for show rather than actually wanting to hurt feelings.

Kids? She has a weak spot for kids. No matter how much she wants to convince herself she doesn't care about them, she can't help but care a little too much. When dealing with kids, she turns a lot more protective and concerned for them, and grows a lot more like her older self. This sort of demeanor can change in a flash if someone else were to butt in, but otherwise she's very nice, social, and loving towards kids. Additionally, she has a weakness towards anyone who may be suffering in some way - namely the dubbed 'freaks' or, Hell, anyone suffering in the Circus if she were to witness their unfortunate state first hand. She knows now that they are all in the same boat together, and that they all have to survive the strangling clutches of Mr. Dark and anything else that they're forced to withstand. She will try to be supportive, but only sometimes; it takes a lot to get her to act this way, and she usually feels like an idiot after doing so.

[ Advantages. ]
- Capable of taking hits. This is also listed as her characteristic. When her wish was granted, her skin grew rougher and thicker to be able to withstand her own spikes to a certain extent. This helps with her defense; if she were to get in a fight, it’d take quite a few hits to really take her down. She is not invincible, but she is capable of shoving aside the pain for a short amount of time.
- Energetic. Despite her lack of sleep most of the time, when she wakes up, she’s immediately awake. She only feels real exhaustion around the time that she normally sleeps, or if she were to spend too much time in the sun. She is able to work for several hours at a time.
-Great listener. She has excellent hearing and will listen to and observe anything someone is saying to her. She can also easily eavesdrop if given the opportunity.
- More lenient to touching. Thanks to her curse, she has lost the ability to feel touches, so if someone were able to actually get close enough to touch her, she will not freak out as much as she once would. She will flinch, however, and try and pull away, but now it's more for other's safety rather than her own former fear.
- Great balance. Cacturnes are able to hold their arms out and keep still and solid, so with this advantage, plus her move Ingrain, she is able to really hold her ground.
- Intimidating. Given her species, strength, and somewhat creepy appearance, not to mention the multiple thorns along her body, she can give off a very intimidating appearance that could frighten people away from her. She uses her move Leer to help with this if she ever wants to feel inapproachable.

[ Disadvantages. ]
- Not a fighter. Well, actually, she is a fighter and she'll put her physical strength to good use. However, she's not skilled in any way, and besides brute force, she lacks technique. Basically, she can throw fists all she wants, but can easily be outmatched by a wittier opponent.
- Falls asleep easily / heavy sleeper. When she does get exhausted, she will want to sleep immediately. She will step out from anything that she’s doing and go straight to sleep. It’s very hard to wake her up when she is resting.
- Can’t feel casual touches. She lost the ability to feel touches, so if someone were to try and get her attention from behind by tapping her shoulder or something, she wouldn’t even notice that they were there.
- Razor claws. If her gloves were to be removed, she’d cause a real mess if she were to touch anything due to how sharp they are. She must have her gloves at all times or else she won’t be able to do anything with her hands.
- Lack of self confidence. She may be physically strong and possibly attractive, but she does not believe that she can achieve much. She believes there's always going to be someone out there better than her, and therefore does not pursue things easily.
- Haphephobia. Her drastic fear of being touched will make her distant when it comes to people. She is very uncomfortable if someone gets too close, and at times, will begin to panic.
- Enochlophobia. When the circus gains a lot of guests, she has to quickly go behind a stage or in a tent. The very sight of a lot of people in a large crowd will make her panic.
- Hates hurting others. She's gotten over her panicky attitude when it comes to hurting someone, but primarily only when she intends to hurt. If she accidentally hurts a friend or a stranger, she will revert back to her apologies and self-loathing. And while she's comfortable with fighting or injuring someone with intent, she will still refuse to utilize her spikes in any way unless absolutely necessary.

Jacqueline was born on the 10th of October to a noble family. In her younger years, Jacqueline was never fond of her social obligations and tried to distance herself from her family - namely her mother, who would often force gatherings and other responsibilities upon her. The poor child developed phobias thanks to the pressure her mother put on her, and these fears surfaced one day when she and her family visitted a circus. Jacqueline, being afraid of touch and crowds, fled from the bustling tents and groups of loud people, and when she ran into Mr. Dark, was quick to make her wish.

“I… I wish they would stop touching me! I don’t want to feel it! I want them to just stay away…”

When her spikes grew impossibly sharp and dangerous, Jacqueline joined the circus after she ended up hurting her brother, Daniel, and other people on the streets. She had no where to go, and couldn't face them again after what she had done. So, feeling thankful towards the Darkrai for granting her wish and a place to stay, she willingly joined as a simple roustabout. She enjoyed life in the circus; it was a lot more the kind of lifestyle she always wished she could have and she was happy that she joined.

However, over time, she began to realize how dark of a place the circus really was. When she learned about the terrible things that Mr. Dark did to the other members of the circus, she began to despise him. While she blamed herself for her own curse, she found no faults in the people she had met, and realized how evil and coniving the Darkrai really was. She declared her hatred for him by growing more defiant, refusing to do her job and treating him with the utmost disrespect.

When the circus was granted their Dreams*, she met the spirit of her father, who told her that her brother was still alive. When given the opportunity, she decided to pay her hometown a visit (as they were in Nimbasa, which is settled right next to Castelia City). She had to see Daniel again! If he was alive, maybe she can finally ask him for forgiveness, and put her mind at ease. However, when she arrived at her home, she ran into her mother at the door. Outraged, her mother began to ask her about where she had been for the past few months, and why she had vanished after she had caused her brother and so many people so much pain. Jacqueline, feeling cornered and attacked, was unsure of how to properly explain and did the one thing she knew how to do: she ran. She fled from her home, sprinting down the streets and ducking into an alley. Curling against the wall, she tried to shove her panic out of her mind and calm herself down. That is, until she heard a voice behind her.

Frantic and caught by surprise, Jacqueline swung her arm around in defense, only to realize that she had run the person through with the spike on her arm. Whats worse, that person was her mother.

Horrified, Jacqueline pulled her arm back, which only ripped the woman's wound open even more. Sand pouring everywhere, her mother collapsed to the ground, bleeding out, incapable of forming words. She passed almost immediately, leaving Jacqueline standing there, staring and frozen in her spot. She only snapped back to reality when she heard shouting down the street; her step-father had seen what happened and began crying for help. Jacqueline tried to reason with him but he would not listen.

Panicking, Jacqueline fled once more, bolting out of the alley and down the street, trying to find a haven. Her mind was fuzzy, her thoughts clouded and buzzing with denial. She ended up running into Mr. Dark, who promised her she'd remain safe if she returned to the circus. She was wanted for the murder of Enora Xavié, and knowing the status of her family, that crime would not go unpunished.

So her loyalty to Mr. Dark became unquestionable. During the Battle*, she did whatever she could to tear down Cirque de la Luz, and happily so. Over time, however, following the loss of the Light Circus, Jacqueline began to realize how her faults could be forgiven, and once more began to feel disdain towards the Darkrai. Now, she tries to live her life as closed off from others as she can, save for those few who she considers friends...

- The gloves she wears were given to her by Mr. Dark. The protect from her claws.
- She blames herself more than she blames Mr. Dark over what happened.
- She doesn't mind wearing dresses, but due to her curse, she can't really wear anything too covering or else her thorns will cut through.
- She doesn't consider herself a 'tomboy', though she has a more masculine appearance than normal. She gets mistaken for a male occasionally, but she doesn't really care too much as long as they realize that she is, infact, a girl. If someone were to continuously call her a boy, she will get annoyed.
- Her spikes can be cut or broken off, but they will grow back almost immediately.
- Her skin is very warm to the touch.
- It's quite possible she got her physical attributes from her father, who was a Fighting Type.
- Despite her oddly shaped mouth, she can talk normally without moving her lips. However, she is fully capable of pulling her lips apart and flexing them completely. For example, she is able to flatten the 'holes' to a thin line, or pull her lips apart so that it looks like a normal (albeit large) mouth.

If someone were to continuously call her a boy, she will get annoyed.
- Her spikes can be cut or broken off, but they will grow back almost immediately.
- Her skin is very warm to the touch.
- It's quite possible she got her physical attributes from her father, who was a Fighting Type.
- Despite her oddly shaped mouth, she can talk normally without moving her lips. However, she is fully capable of pulling her lips apart and flexing them completely. For example, she is able to flatten the 'holes' to a thin line, or pull her lips apart so that it looks like a normal (albeit large) mouth.
