UPDATE: It turns out, Walt actually made peace with ol' Charlie. The guy was down on his luck, hat in hand, when Walt came up to him in the lobby at Universal. They exchanged pleasantries, shook hands, the whole shebang. Some "bad guys" need second chances. It just takes a good guy who's willing to give it to them.

Sad but true. However now Oswald's back and Disney is treating him right. Gave him back his original appearance and is slowly working him back into the spotlight.

Universal took Oswald from Mintz after the poor performance with the cartoons and his treatment towards Disney. Then they gave Oswald to Lantz to continue the cartoons.

I actually don't get how bad this guy is nor do I see anything wrong with the Universal Oswald cartoons (Cept the fact that they changed his look into something more "Bugs Bunny-ish". Though I never have a problem with new looks, it's just that I really can't see the drastic change on someone like Oswald to be much of an improvement). It does say on his tombstone that he was a loving father and husband to his family, but why hate on him only for changing a cartoon character (Who is fictional I may mind you). Also, why even compare this guy to the Once-Ler (Who is also a fictional character) when you all have no idea what happened with Walt, Oswald, and the Universal guy (The name escapes me a lot). I'm not trying to force anyone to change their oppinion on this guy, but calling this guy out when no one here has any idea who he is, it's just foolish in so many levels.

I empathize with others most of the time, but with some people there's no excuse for the deplorable things they do. Just because someone is "a loving fathe and husband" at home doesn't mean they can't be a slimey, manipulative crook. I admit I never knew this guy or what he was like behind the scenes, but the fact is he cheated a young man AND took away most of his animation staff as well as his cartoon character. I don't care if he was father of the year or gave his wife a kidney. Cheaters never prosper, and THAT'S why no one cares enough to remember his name.

Well, I have to admit that the "Cheating Walt out of his creation and taking away most of his animation staff" was a dick move on his part, but the sol part that I'm just saying is that no one should judge someone from a diffrent time period unless someone else happened to know them or at least studied the person. Same thing goes for parsing someone, no one really should go and love/hate someone unless they happened to studied the targeted person. I just can't change my point about this guy unless I actually see a page of a biography or just any amount of proof that he's either a jerk or just someone who is wrongfully hated by everyone.

I understand that. The picture is just demonstrating one point of view, and it's meant to encourage people to think about the consequences of their actions. When you lie and cheat, people remember you as such.

And yet we have to thank him, because Disney became a success and after 80+ years, the Disney Co. got the rabbit back and got him his first role under the name of Disney with EPIC Mickey.

Well NHarmonik it's possible that if Walt never lost Oswald in the first place, Mickey or Minnie wouldn't have existed because they are replacements for Oswald and his various love interests. Think of it, a world where Oswald was Disney's icon and in the cartoons and films.
