It didn't help really. I was drawing someone getting stabbed in the heart and you can probably only tell that it's blood because a knife was in the person's chest.

I'm trying to draw a picture of someone being sliced in half at the waist and I can't make the splatter of blood add up. If you know anything about blood explosions, could you let me know?

Blood behaves a lot like water does, but it is thicker and falls faster. Blood from your middle section would likely be more light red than black red, especially if the lungs were damaged (in which case it would be oxygenated and turn a Pepto pink. I know because I help my dad skin deer sometimes.) If you need to, fill a balloon with water, go someplace that's easy to clean, and use a knife or machete (if available) to chop it in half. Observe how the water explodes and falls and work from there, keeping in mind the consistency of blood.

Just make the fur red, more transparently red the further away from the wound. If it's not a wound on them, then just make it red like you wet the fur.
