D.I.T.T.O. is a pokémon born from the attempts to clone the rare pokémon Mew.
Forced from Giovanni to create the ultimate bio-weapon, Fuji and his equipe obtain two prototypes. While one of them seems to not reject the genetic grafts, the cell-structure of the second one collapses.
In an unstoppable vortex of anatomic shapes, the main trait of Mew shows itself, and the creature with the DNA of all pokémons starts to resemble various appearances of well-known monsters. Crushing the incubator where it lies becoming a very big Snorlax, the amorphous creature reabsorbs its mass stabilizing its look. A pink blob made of soft organic tissue starts to blink its little black eyes and making sounds like a crying newborn.

In the next days, the scientists verify its ability of transformation. The creature can transform itself into everything, animated or not-animated objects. D.I.T.T.O. not only transforms its exterior look but manipulates its physiological constitution changing is pokémon-type and gaining the ability to replicate the technics of the creature imitated.
However, seems to not have any kind of psy-power, not directly.

Pleased for the results, Giovanni decides to take with him the new pokémon, evaluating the opportunity to replicate the wrong experiment and creating a new series of D.I.T.T.O. to sell at the right customer.

Meanwhile, many months pass and the second M2-Prototype awakes. Mewtwo is born. During the attempt to control its powers, Fuji's equipe and many Team Rocket's agents die in a big energy explosion caused by the great psychic-abilities of Mewtwo. In the same occasion Giovanni, injured but still alive, loses the function of arms and legs. Paralyzed on his bed, medics and engineers search the way to help their boss, with no results.

One day the R&D section comes with a solution: using D.I.T.T.O., implating into it a neural microprocessor, Giovanni can control with his mind the creature as avatar.
A device connected via pOS (Porygon Operating System) can read the cerebral waves of Giovanni and send an electric signal to the highly responsive mutant-monster, forcing it to resemble the appearance of the Team Rocket's leader, giving to Giovanni a new kind of freedom.

Giovanni decides to keep D.I.T.T.O. for himself and starts to search Mewtwo: the cloned pokémon is, in fact, a new species, out from the gene-kit known, and the only one that D.I.T.T.O. can't imitate spontaneously.

EXTRA: In the meantime, Giovanni acclimates with his new life and starts to enjoy more his duty as Gym Leader of Viridian City. He likes to fight in person, transforming into his favourite Ground Types pokémons.
