You know, one of my favorite things about the Chronodweller race is just how varied the individuals look! These days so many species designers rely on swapping out parts and colors ("ooh I think I'll go with Face Type 2 and Ear Type 1") that we forget that everybody ought to be unique! I like how this Chronodweller has this smooth, slanted face with regal, curling pronghorns. It's just so exotic-looking, and one of the most handsome ones I've seen so far. I still wouldn't like to encounter is in a dark alley...!
This is a beautiful little painting here. I feel that the plus-shaped stars are a bit distracting, but it isn't enough to take away from the radiant colors and beautiful use of lighting. Those gleaming eyes stand out PERFECTLY again the gray-black face. Aaaugh, your portraits are always to die for. <3
One thing I've been curious about: you mentioned a while back that Chronodwellers are composed of living time, and that they bleed not blood but actual TIME. Can you explain how this works? I know it's beyond the comprehension of uni-dimensional meatbags like us, but does this "lost time" affect the time around it, or somewhere else in space and time? I'm not sure how many dimensions Chronodwellers occupy, but I'd imagine that somewhere, someWHEN, something gets fucked up when a Chrono is hurt.
(See now THIS is some good sci-fi worldbuilding. When you've got people questioning the fabric of space and time in your universe, you're doing your job. Excellent work, Inseng!)

YEAH chronodwellers aren't actually flesh and blood. As it stands they're more of a concept that anything else. If wounded their 'blood' will either vastly accelerate or decelerate whatever it comes in contact with and even start unravelling the fabric of space-time. It's the cause of many strange anomalies in the universe at large but most of its effects are unknown or poorly understood, just like the creatures themselves. If your skin were to come into contact with chrono blood you'd start to either age or begin to regress in age rapidly, either on a local or full body scale. Can you imagine your arm suddenly aging to the point of hundreds of years in the space of a few seconds? Best not get too close to a wounded chrono if you can help it. XD
Heck it might even alter your timeline or start affecting the very core of 'fate'. Since they're kind of like. Living bits of space and time brought forth from the last breath of a dying god, I imagine they have powers and affects on the universe at large even they themselves aren't aware of. Mostly though, their blood is best explained as their essence leaking out. They are space and time coalesced into a tangible form, and if wounded somehow the results are pretty much just their condensed essence leaking back into the cosmos.
And aaah thank you for the kind words on the painting itself! I don't think you have to worry though, chronodwellers are incredibly kind creatures. They mean no harm and are pretty shy so there's no reason to worry if you have the luck to encounter one!

Oh my god that's crazy! I'm not very keen on time-based sci-fi, but THAT is neat. It makes me wonder just how the dath'ilyas went about enslaving and murdering the chronodwellers. How did they do that? Do the dath'ilyas have a method of "exterminating" them, such as specialized weaponry, or did they do something extreme like implode them in black holes? One of my races, the ao*o (Eclipse and the Aman5 "gods" are of this species), cannot be killed traditionally and must be either contained or outright sent elsewhere in time. Hahah! I love this kind of physics-based sci-fi, it's so fascinating. <3
I love the spirituality behind it all, and that they're time and space manifest. Do the chronos have any form of religion?
