I gots my motivation back. Finally. After what felt like untold aeons. I don't care if this is good or not. (it's not) I just want to draw again. It makes me happy. SO BEHOLD! A Space Pirate of some sort! Sort of... Staring blankly into space because his brain is intelligent.

I wonder if you had any influence from district 9? Certainly not the same design, but I get that fascinating crustacean feel from this. Very impressive drawing, I especially love the green colors. Very nice.

All my influence would be from Metroid and real life bugs, but I loved District 9 so who knows. There may be some sub conscious influence from that, as well.

Looks like a Space Pirate to me, reminds me of the Space Pirates from Metroid Prime meets some sick bloodthirsty Castlevania character.
I like it. Really shows the lethal, intimidating side of the pirates. Sometimes I forget how awesome they are. But it's so easy to forget when all they do is distract you; they are never any real threat.

They're kind of like broken locusts: alone they're not much but together they have the potential to be horrifically devastating.

True, that. The Mines of Prime was a challenge because there were so many. And those ones that had the cloaking devices...awesome stuff.

I loved the music that played in those areas. Really added to that dark, eerie atmosphere. When I first played it I was actually kind of scared to progress because I knew the cloaked ones would pop out of everywhere. XD

Yeah. They come off the ceiling...gotta love the pirates. It's gotta be fun to be them...well, before Samus/Dark Samus walks into the room, that is.

He's all acting like he's in a gang, the hands being all "M E" for Middle Earth or more likely something metroid related. I guess he is in a gang if he's a space pirate. xD

This sentence not only pleases me greatly, but it reminds me of that one Space Pirate log in Metroid Prime 2 when one of the space pirates complains about the scientists trying to train metroids, saying they have "vapor for brains". So poetic.
Anyway, I'm so happy to see this!
