Description
So here it is, a revised map of Earth (Mobius) as it appears in Eon’s World. I've created maps for Eon’s World before, going back as far even as 2006, where the geography was completely different (loosely based on the world map shown in Shadow the Hedgehog), but from 2011 onwards, I decided to make the world map at least geographically accurate, even if most of the countries were made up places. But around 2014 and 2017, I heavily revised the map and made most of the countries at least based on real places, with the idea that this was Earth a few centuries in the future, so what nations existed at that time would be descendants of real-world nations.
But last year, I decided to completely rework the history and backstory of Eon’s World to place the fiction over 50,000 years in the future, long after any real world nations have long ceased to be. Now, there are some nations that bear some similarities to real-world nations or places, and there are backstory reasons for that, but those similarities are mostly superficial by the time of Eon’s World and those places shouldn’t be thought of as descendants of or successor states to their real world counterparts.

Anyway, about this map!
So, I decided to draw on a lot of different Sonic fiction to create this map. The biggest influences by far are Mobius from the Archie comics (both pre and post reboot) and the locations featured in Sonic Unleashed, as well as Sonic Adventure and Sonic Adventure 2. But I also included a few references to other Sonic fiction, too, including Sonic Underground and Fleetway’s Sonic the Comic. The rest was just filling in the blanks with my own garbage fantasy future place names, some of which are based on alternative names for real places, and some of which are just made up words that sound like place names.

Fun fact: Some of the places I originally created for Eon’s Comic back in the day but retconned out in favour of a more “real” world map have actually been recycled back into the map now. Never let an idea go to waste, I guess.
Anyway, this map shouldn’t change much going forwards now. I feel like I have the setting and history firmly nailed down at last and I don’t plan to overhaul it again like this. The only thing likely to change is the addition of new locations as and when they pop up in Eon’s World.
