Description
I like pain, apparently. I am no longer satisfied just buying models I find an interest in, but instead modify or build from scratch so I can have a uniform lineup on my shelf.
I am an Imperial person; not politics but rather vehicles. I am also an original trilogy Star Wars fan, and want a small collection to show this. This is part of my ground forces line. Starting with the Rogue One AT-ST, I designed my Mid-sized AT-AT. I followed this with a modified AT-TE. Yeah, I know it is not original trilogy, but I can make it work. Looking for my next project I came across the Juggernaut. Also Clone Wars, but hey, it was also in Rogue One, so I will give it a pass.
The official Lego model, last from 2016, was okay, but I wanted a consistent scale. No, this is not the big Juggernaut, the A6. I can not justify that. This design is following the A5, with shaping coming from the original Essential Guide to Vehicles book. This is a NON-CANNON design, as I pulled elements from all over to have it pleasing to the eyes. Also, this is not meant to be a UCS model. I design all of my builds as play-scale, meaning it needs to hold together with a bit of abuse.
The design follows close to the 2016 model, but with substantial changes. My design will be about 50 cm long. It has six hatches on top and along the sides to give access to use our big hands to place mini-figures, with two additional hatches forward and aft to allow a play way to load and unload crew. My design has the same suspension as the 2016 model, but my lookout tower has been greatly simplified with still the ability to drop down. My design does not have any launching projectiles, and I do not find them interesting.
This is just my first render. As far as I can tell, this design has all legal connections. I will construct this model, and make the almost certain tweaks, when I get to a country where I can buy Lego pieces.
