Description This is an old drawing that I never bothered to upload for some reason, eventhough I really like it a lot. Drawn on the backside of a postcard as a christmas greeting, it's no bigger than a stamp.

Enjoy and by all means, do leave a comment. ;3

Thank you. No, it's just a random cat that I drew on the back of a christmas card a few years back. It's about the same size as a stamp. :3 I do have a cat these days though and I love her to bits.

Looks lovely! I've never had a chance to have one. What's her name?

SkrΓ₯llan (pronounced a bit like scroll). I took her in two winters ago from the streets. :3

I think she's 4-6 years old. Maybe be older, but she's very active and playfull. She likes to shoot passt the house at full speed outside in the garden. Usually she's aiming for the trees, but then she runs out of momentum and stops by the base of the tree, looking up. XD

Oh not so young then. Was she injured when you found her?

Luckily she wasn't insured, but she was very hungry and was lacking some weight. I managed to track her down on the internet. A monthold add where someone was looking for her (not the previous owner though). The person had found her a month earlier in october, while walking her dog. From what she has told me, the cat seemed abandoned and was lying in the grass. At first she thought it was a dead cat. At any rate she took her with her, but couldn't keep her, because she was living in a flat with two large dogs and a few birds. She had a brother though, who lived some 30 km away, and he had agreed to take her as second cat in the household. Things didn't go as planned though. He didn't have a cat carrier, so he brought a moving box instead to keep her in. During the drive home, she escaped from the box and clampered onto the top of the driver's seat and balanced there for the rest of the ride. Once arrived, he didn't put her back in the box, but decided to tuck her under his arm instead. While he was struggling to get the key into the lock, she paniced and apparently scratched him up pretty badly. He dropped her and she ran away. Neither he nor his sister could find her afterwards and she ended up wandering the streets for a month, until I spotted her by chance. I was standing outside the house and was taking pictures of the beautiful winter sky. While looking at the display and fiddling with the color settings I noticed a little dot coming into view. Looking up I couldn't see anything, but I guessed that it was a cat, so I called out and she answered. Then she began running and kept meowing to make sure, that I wouldn't dissappear before she got there. She was so happy and so hungry. She's hardly left my side since then.

Ohh what a story! I'm sure she got through a lot so she must be happy to finally find the owner she deserves. Thanks to that amazing winter sky that made you go out and check it.

Yeah, it was very lucky. I only spent like 5 minutes outside because it was so cold. She was lucky to pass by just then, or she would just have walked past. If you look closely, you can see her oout on the street. The brother didn't want her back afterwards.

So those people told you her name or you named he afterwards?

demiveemon In reply to zaxad [2018-01-02 15:53:21 +0000 UTC]

Noone knows her real name. The vet looked her over for a microchip or any tattoo that could have helped identify her previous owner but there was none to be found. I took my time naming her, and had at first settled for Skorpan (means crust in Swedish, but is also the same as dried bisquits). She remained with my parents for a few months after I had returned to Denmark and my mother kept saying SkrΓ₯llan instead and it did fit her better. Once all her shots were in place (regular and rabies one) and she got her own passport, I could bring her home. :3

She's a lucky one. Did she got scared of fireworks and noises on the New Year eve? Many animals do. My neighbor's dog always goes crazy and they have to lock him to some dark room until it's over.

We spent the evening at my bf's parent's place this year, so I couldn't keep an eye on her. We got home around 0:30 and at that time there were still fireworks sounding in the distance. She did come greet me when I stepped inside (usually she comes outside as soon as the car drives into the carport, as she has her own catflap). She didn't seem troubled by the firework and happily ate the meal I served her. Looking out the window I could see that the stray I'm feeding (semi-feral) had been there earlier to feed. Not sure if he came by later in the night again to feed some more. He usually comes roughly three times over the course of the evening. Yesterday he was back to his usual routine, so they seem to be fine. I have little doubt he must have been scared during the worst of it. People have been shooting for the last couple of days though, so in that respect it didn't come as a full on surprise, but still. I wish that people would stick to midnight, or better yet, refrain from firing fireworks at all. Maybe the townships could host something, but it really aught to be limited, both for the sake of animals, the environment and those suffering from post traumatic stress syndrome.

Yeah, lets hope so. I bet it must be quiet a pollutant too. If they look into that aspect, gouvernments might be interested in limiting the amount that get fired off. I mean, here they're banning diesel cars from the inner cities (or atleast they talk about it), so that may be a way to go.

Exactly! To be fair, I'm not against fireworks and celebration in general, especially for the New Year eve. But let's keep it limited, as you said, and let's keep in mind our pets and other animals that don't enjoy it one bit.

I've bought a bunch of rectangular ones from this site the one on the top .
So I'd probably add a branch over the kittens head if there's too much blank space and then I could place the same motive on the backside or another picture of choise. :3
