This is pretty much the counterpart art to Go Maximals Go . I drew this not too long after I finished Go Maximals Go. The difference is, the finished version of Go Maximals Go is from two years ago, and was one of the first things I ever inked digitally. Now I actually know WTF I'm doing, plus I have one sexy Wacom. So this is technically better. Though Go Maximals Go was my pride and joy at the time. I still love it. Even though the lines are too thick and my grasp of chins was more terrible than it is today and all that.

So uh. Yeah. Counterpart. If Go Maximals Go has the Beast Wars Maximals as seen in the beginning of season 3 in human form, these are the Predacons as seen in the beginning of season 3. In human form. That was fun. Except for the part where I found my composition to be lacking and had to add Rampage's HUGE hand to fix it. I would've added Dinobot II, but nah, he's not tall enough to fit between Inferno and Quickstrike.

Individual notes:

Megatron: I struggled with Megatron for a bit. I knew I wanted to give him a super respectable beard, he had some serious chin-framing going on. But then I was stuck on his clothing and hair and shiz, 'cause he needed to be respectable but... how. Then my friend noted that he's like every James Bond villain ever. STROKE OF GENIUS. And thus, nehru jacket and a short cut influenced by Ernst Blofeld and Doctor No. Now all he's missing is a little robo-cat.

...I was tempted to add Rubber Ducky in place of a robo-cat. You know Megs loves his ducky.

Tarantulas: God, his colors are garish. 90's neon garish. I never noticed that till now. Furthermore, I have no idea why I didn't draw in yellow safety goggles shaped like Tarantulas' visor. You KNOW human Ranty has them somewhere. But the most pressing question is... my goodness, why does he look so YOUNG? Oh, oh, sure, I designed him to look like this and all, but I still can't figure out WHY. His VA was an older dude, but Ranty just... never struck me as that old. I don't even know why. His voice was a lot more more "hi I'm a bloody creep" than" hi I'm in my 70s". But... aw jeez let's be honest here, I made him handsome. Tarantulas. Handsome. AND YET IT WORKS FOR ME. God I dunno what anymore.

Goddamn that stupid little side braid thing just took over. Damn it, Denahi.

Rampage: I wanted Rampage to look like a TOUGH MOTHA, YEEEAAAAH. 'Cause he is. He will crush your skull between his hands and eat your crushed head with fava beans and a nice chianti. So he has piercings, and a goatee, and a ponytail, and I'm positive he has a giant X-shaped tattoo on his back for kicks. And he's huge.

Inferno: Inferno needed a sharp goatee and wild hair. He also needed to keep his teeth sharp. And have that one big-one small eye thing. And it's all because he's CRAZY AS A NUTCRACKER. Every time I look at the picture I think "should I have colored his hair a brighter red?" and then I'm all "NAH" 'cause I promised myself to stick to natural-ish hair colors. It's enough that his crazy eyes are red, yo.

Quickstrike: I envisioned Quickstrike as a counterpart to Silverbolt. They were "born" together, they're both fuzors, both with messed up personalities that adhere to popular culture stereotypes, both very young in spirit, both have a thing for Blackarachnia, both INCREDIBLY dumb... the difference is that 'Bolt makes for a terrible Predacon and Quicky would make for a terrible Maximal, despite his core program. So Quicky is almost a color swap of my Silverbolt, except he's a lot shorter and clad in the most garish cowboy outfit you can find. Mismatched gloves, boy oh boy!

Waspinator: I already drew Waspy as a human , but I've since retouched him a bit. And added goggles, because it just fits. Ah, he is such an overgrown child. Not nearly as dumb and innocent as he looks, though, but dumb and innocent enough.
