Ah, yes, it's been a while since I committed that sin and uploaded some humanized Transformers. And now they don't look like crap so much so yay! Well, at least, I can draw girls and young adults now, that has to count for something.

So. Maximals! As seen in season 3. Minus Depth Charge 'cause he's like some crazy Batman who doesn't like people and lives in the wilderness and eats berries or something. But look, whatever, these guys survived the Beast Wars and they make for an awesome team so I'll draw them and shut up.

Just a note: I don't like the trend of Fruits Basket style humanizing. Where everyone looks like Sohma Yuki or Shigure. 'Cause like, hey, I don't think Rattrap or Dinobot would be TEH HAWT YOUNG BISHIES. They don't act it. Or look it, for that matter. So I'm against that. I'm for trying to go with what canon gives us, yes? And in canon Rattrap acts middle aged and cranky. So!

Individual notes.

Optimus: Transformers of the Optimus brand are hard to humanize. Except for Animated!Optimus, he's such a boyscout and actually has a personality so you don't have to make him completely leaderly. Optimus Primal is also relatively easy. He IS more leaderly than Ani!Optimus, but he's also a young leader with more personality than a PB&J toast. In my mind, he's like... in his early-mid 30's. Looks like a guy you can trust. Gee, I hope I managed.

Rattrap: Like I said, middle-aged and cranky, with greying brown hair. And buck teeth, because it ain't Rattrap without buck teeth. When I designed him a long time ago, I was thinking about Fisher Stevens in his role from Early Edition. Little witty guy from Brooklyn, little witty guy from Chicago. It's about the same thing.

Rhinox: He is so black. Which makes no sense, since his VA is a bald white guy, but yeah, he just strikes me as black. And I'm talking about the Samuel L. Jackson type. He's just THAT cool. He's also around the same "age" as Rattrap, but he's much cooler with being middle-aged. 'Cause he's Rhinox and he's awesome like that.

Cheetor: He was easy, I'm used to drawing doofy adolescents. He retains the freckles from his first form because they're too cute and fitting, and he gets to keep his fangs because they add to his smile. His hair should probably be blond, but the brown worked really well and all the shades of blond I tried really didn't.

Silverbolt: For whatever reason, when I was designing 'Bolts I was thinking more "Native American" than "Knight In Shining Armor". Must be the beast mode. In the end he just ended up being "one with nature" with a knightly twist. He's the only one with an unnatural hair color in my designs, he just didn't look good with blacker hair. I just tried to make him a tall, doofy kind of guy. Like my human Mumm. Though Silverbolt has more dignity. But they're both cheesier than cheddar!

Blackarachnia: ASIAN EXOTIC DANCER. Ahahahah. Yeah, that's basically it. I think she looks pretty cool, considering that I cannot draw girls.
