Description So a while ago I made these wings:

And had a lot of questions about various aspects of making them and was requested a tutorial. So I made a new pair in order to make this tutorial.

Unfortunately I couldn't make the wings in the same way (which is the part most people were asking about) as I couldn't get the same material I used last time. Also, as mentioned in the tutorial, using card is a lot cheaper and easier.

This is my first tutorial, so if anyone has any suggestions for improvements I'd love to hear them, and if anything's unclear or you have any further questions feel free to ask! Also as mentioned, I know nothing about clockwork, so if anyone does and wants to correct any names or anything that I may have got wrong let me know. Same for if you see any spelling mistakes, I didn't use a spell check and I'm quite prone to typos.

And of course, if you use this for anything, please link back here and send me a link to any pictures of it!

This is so cool! I'm planning on making angel wings for Seattle Steamcon in October so I'm working on saving some money to buy all the materials I need to make this. ^^ though, do you think it would still work if the wings are bigger?

I've seen similar wings made at a larger scale, so I think it could work. Though if I were to do it I'd go more for a wing design that bent in the middle if they were full-size angel wings. Either way, you'll want to make them fold up somehow for transport and getting through doors and stuff. Maybe make ones that fold in the middle so you can have then bent, or put them straight to make them more like this design. Good luck with whatever you choose! I'd love to see them when they're done!

you wouldn't happen to have a diagram of the wings! I am trying to draw them for my own clockwings but they are not coming out right

Have you looked at this picture [link] ? It shows the wings more clearly. If that doesn't help I'll draw some tonight and upload them.

Looks cool. How big are they?

Actually let me correct that, the wings in that picture are the original wings, the new wings are slightly larger (maybe an inch longer).

They're much bigger than I thought. It's a very cool tutorial. I guess I'll have to search for a clock like that if I want to make it too.

Thanks! There's a picture of me wearing them here [link] I can't give exact measurements though as I'm at uni and they're at home atm.
