Hello, trying to change up my art style, I hope y'all dont mind xDD

wanted to put together a piece to commemorate these three becoming like family and to see where they go from here.

Also, YES those are rather LARGE ticks on Fawn and NO she doesn't care lmao

tldr;

We're tramping through the bush.

On and on we push. Into the thick of it,
But we can't see where we're going. ♫♫



Into the Thick of It

“My, my! You certainly look like a capable fellow,” you hear a voice call from behind you. You turn and spot a horse standing deep within the shadows. They offer you a friendly smile before continuing.
“My name is Iefan. Pardon my asking, but I was wondering if you might be interested in doing a little something for me. I’m looking for a specific item, do you think you could find it? It’s a very special flower. I know of a few places to find it, but each location has its own specific challenges.
If you consider strength to be your best feature, then I’d recommend taking to the mountains. If you are fleet of foot, the plains are the perfect place for you. If you have the stamina to outlast all the others, then you should go to the Great Lake. And if your intelligence is your greatest strength, the forest may call to you.
Do you think you can do this for me? Go out, collect this flower, and return it to me. I’ll reward you handsomely for your cooperation~”

It takes you time, but you make your way down to the forest. The boughs have started changing colors with the season, but as you make your way deeper inside, the warm colors give way to a spooky mist. It’s dark and chilly, and you start getting the feeling that you’re being watched.
You travel a bit farther onward when suddenly, a small, piebald fox jumps into your path. It blinks up at you, a smile on its face.
“Welcome, traveller. Did Iefan send you? They always send someone around this time of the year. They’re seeking a very special flower, and I need to make sure you’re smart enough not to lose it on your way back to them.”
“How about this: I’ll trade you the flower for a special glowing mushroom. They grow down by the stream,”
You nod and follow the fox’s instructions to the stream. There, you find a bunch of glowing blue mushrooms. As you reach down to grab them, a raven calls out to you.
“Careful! Those ‘shrooms are potent enough to knock out even the largest horse. If you want some of those, you’ll have to find another way to carry them!”

What will you do?
Ask the raven to carry them for you

Find a leaf to wrap the mushrooms in

You ask the raven for help, and the bird tilts its head for a moment. After thinking it over, the bird nods.
“I suppose I could,” it says, and flies down to pull a few out of the ground. You lead the way back, the bird following closely behind you until you find your way back to the fox. The bird drops the mushrooms at it’s paws and you thank it before it flies off.
The fox inspects the shrooms for a bit before looking up at you. “Very well, I suppose you have done as I asked. Here.” It offers you a purple-blue bloom that almost seems to sparkle in the light.
“Hurry up and get back to Iefan. They’ll be happy to see you back.”

Depict your horse returning to Iefan to receive your rewards!

It takes some time to find your way back to Iefan, but you finally find them lounging deep within the shadows of a cave. It’s so dark you can barely make out their form, but they offer you a friendly smile as you approach.

“Welcome back, my friend. It seems you were successful in finding the flower I requested. Very good! Now for your reward..” they pause, considering their options for a moment before nodding.

“I have a group of friends residing within a very special forest. They only come around to visit once a year, but I’m sure if you offer them an Alpine Aster, they will happily join your herd.”

“If that doesn’t suit you, perhaps I could interest you in my stash of feathers? I think 3000 feathers is an appropriate reward, don’t you?”

“It’s been a pleasure doing business with you. Perhaps I’ll see you around sometime soon?”
