This is my most complicated Photoshop piece to date, with over 7,700 layers and a total file size of 2.2GB.I've been receiving a lot of questions about how I manage 7000+ layers, so here's a bit of background: 7700 is the total number of layers if you add them all up from the many documents that comprise the final piece. The way I approached it is by creating the pieces individually and saving them into separate canvas groups, then importing each component as flattened graphics into the final canvas. By doing this I was able to keep the master file down to about 800 layers. If I had kept all the layers intact for each itty bitty component, I would have had to manage the 7700 layers in one canvas, which would probably have melted my computer.

Thanks. I drew the circuit patterns in Illustrator, and it's not really more flexible. Unless I've been missing something the past 14 years.

That is madness! My computer would not even function with that being on the hard drive, never mind opening it. XD
This is of top quality. The hard work you put into it, and all the time, has paid off. All the detail that has been jam packed in here, and knowing you had to make it all by scratch is an impressive feat.

I have to say this is the cake-taker in dedication.
What I admire the most, aside from the immaculate detail (which, as a general rule for me, should not be so much the centrepiece as the whole composition/atmosphere/whatnot), is the consistent direction of light.
Love the shiny, clean effect from the vector work.
