Description
This is my most complicated Photoshop piece to date, with over 7,700 layers and a total file size of 2.2GB.I've been receiving a lot of questions about how I manage 7000+ layers, so here's a bit of background: 7700 is the total number of layers if you add them all up from the many documents that comprise the final piece. The way I approached it is by creating the pieces individually and saving them into separate canvas groups, then importing each component as flattened graphics into the final canvas. By doing this I was able to keep the master file down to about 800 layers. If I had kept all the layers intact for each itty bitty component, I would have had to manage the 7700 layers in one canvas, which would probably have melted my computer.

They only thing i don't like are that some of the words on the chips are characters too easily recognized, so it distracted from the main Geek part.

Well, actually I should clarify. I did use some fonts for the small lettering on the components. I just meant to say that I drew the geek word

Such an outstanding piece of art can not go unnoticed. At first, it could look like a photomanipulation. But to think that every single piece of this image was created from scratch and with such amazing accuracy, skill and patience!
Your commitment, dedication and artistic ability is astounding; a role model for every artist. Thanks for sharing this beautiful work with us!

Wow, you were awful quick to jump to my userpage! I wouldn't have thought you would have replied so quickly. I mean, you must have been getting an awful lot of messages.
However, don't worry. You've created a stupendous image there. I can't even remotely imagine how hard this must have been to finish. 7700 levels are something unconceivable for me. The DD and the recognition for your artwork are totally deserved.
However, I'm glad to find a fellow Italian (and a talented one) here on dA. I don't know how the weather is now in Florida, but here it's just starting to get warmer. Although it's only February, it looks like spring is already about to come around again.
Now, I've been using English, 'cause I don't know how well you actually speak Italian, so just let me tell you: grazie per aver creato un così bello sfondo, questo mi terrà compagnia per molto tempo!
