Description Leptinotarsa decemlineata

We found this guy in our salad, where he must've spend a few days until being released onto our stove by my girlfriend and immediately trapped again by me. I put him into a glass where he had to spend the night so i could take a few shots of him the next day. I released him into our yard later, where he's now busy i guess.

Thanks for the nice comment! ^^

Actually it's just glass and a piece of salad in the background, because i had the glass standing on my table, with has a glass desk top.

Thanks a lot! If you read yourself into the stuff it's actually pretty easy, when you have such a subject in captivity.

May i recommend strobist.com to you? ^

It's really good stuff. And i'd say, start at the beginning, with Lighting 101 and the On-Assignments.

I don't like bugs either, but they're fun to photograph.

Out of the two shots you submitted of this little one, I'd say I prefer this one as it's lighter and more in focus allowing the details to shine through. And wow, what details they are!

I love the background. It's all shiny and different. Somehow it makes the shot look very modern and stylish. Love the reflection too - that's really cool.

Personally, I think a little crop from the bottom might look good, but that's just minor. Really, a totally cool shot with lovely colours and clarity. Great work on this!

Of course i liked it. Shows that you dealt in some way with the picture and thought about it. Most of the people here on dA don't seem to do that. ^^
