A very bizarre animal indeed, Chalicotherium is perhaps one of the most unique creatures in the galaxy.
Despite it's appearence they a normally peaceful herbivores that prefers to spend its days lazing about or playing with its family.
It is very territorial, however, and the entire family, young and old will turn against an encroaching creature at just the slightest provocation.

Chalicotheres walked on their knuckles to protect their long claws. These powerful limbs were very effective defensive weapons, but more often these herbivores used them to hook down branches to get at the softest leaves.
Chalicotheres can be found on various planets and usually live in areas with large open plains and prairies.
They are also common prey items for animals such as Hyaenodon, Enteladont, Atrociraptor and Velociraptor.
