Well, it really depends whenever we count the cut scene from the first movie, were the Xenomorph, when separated completelly from the Queen, can turn others into Ovomorphs (eggs), or even Xenomorphs (ie seeing the Eggs/Cacoons size, it looks as if a grown Xenomorph would emerge from it):

If an Xenomorph, could silently hunt enough apes and humans to turn it could become a big treat.

Another posibility, is that a Xenomorph can molt into Praetorian and eventually a Queen. It's suggested thatin Alien vs Predator: Requiem the Predalien there is a Praetorian (while also referring this stage of Xenomorph life as a "young queen"), but it can reproduce, if in an unorthodox way - by "impregnating" pregnant women.

(It's probable normally, Praetorian don't do this, due to being focused on protecting the true Queen, and als as the Queen's reproductive method, is more efficent.)

Really, in the end it depends how would the lone Xenomporphs time in Planet of Apes transpire - if he found out quick, it would take a number of apes and/or people, but eventually be killed. If it manage to cocoon some victims, or molt, well, then we have a problem.

If it's just one Xenomorph, than it would be a decent challenge but it would eventually die if the apes catch on to it and kill it since they deem it a threat. If it's a whole colony, especially a queen, and if the apes aren't aware of the hive and find it before it's too late... than they will be in big trouble.

Well, as I stated to Danny, technically, even a lone Xenomorph, can cause an apocalyptic threat, if given time. It really depends on if the apes (or even humans) catch to it quick enough.
In a delated scene from the first movie (present in the directors cut), it shown Xenomorph, when separated completelly from the Queen, can turn others into Ovomorphs (eggs), or even Xenomorphs (ie seeing the Eggs/Cacoons size, it looks as if a grown Xenomoprh would emerge from it):

Ridley Scott at least, considers this scene canon.

So if an Xenomorph, could silently hunt enough apes and humans to turn, before it was detected/found it could become potentialy a big treat.

Another possibility, is that a Xenomorph could molt into Praetorian and eventually a Queen. It's stated in Alien vs Predator: Requiem the Predalien there is implied to be a Praetorian (the creators also referring there this stage of Xenomorph life as a "young queen"), but it can reproduce, if in an unorthodox way - by "impregnating" pregnant women.

(It's probable normally Praetorian don't do this, due to being focused on protecting the true Queen, and als as the Queen's reproductive method, is more efficent.)

Yeah. I forgot about that too and I consider an Xenomorph dangerous wither way. Heck, they are potentially one of the most dangerous semi-sapient alien species in the film industry.

Good point and I'm wondering what would apes felt about the hive of Xenomorphs?
