Hyaenodon is one of the most dangerous animals in the Galaxy. It is a predator, quadrupedal, and covered in thin, coarse hair that keeps it warm in its icy environment. Hyaenodon has a very large skull compared to its body size, and a bone-crushing bite as well.

Its snout is black, while its hide is light brown with darker brown stripes covering its body up to the neck. The legs are a dark brown, before fading into the body's shade around the knee.

Its sheer size and meat-shearing teeth would make a deadly combination, making it an efficient and successful predator. However, like most other early carnivorous mammals, Hyaenodon wasn't the brightest of animals.

It is an apex predator. This animal preys on the bizarre group of animals called chalicotheres, newborn Indricotheriums, Iguanodon and Pachyrhinosaurus.

Next to large creatures such as an indricotheren or Sauropod, Hyaenodon may have looked small, but they were as big as rhinos, and were easily capable of killing an indricothere calf, if they could get pass the mothers. Hyaenodon have a bone-shattering force of over 1,000 pounds per square inch.

Hyaenodons are also popular animals to be used in Gladiatorial Arenas such as one that was used in the Petranaki Arena on Geonosis.
