So, this is basically my first attempt at digital shading. Quite pleased with this one.
Coloring took about an hour, Shading probably 4 hours or so. Mostly just trying to figure it out, haha.
As always, any advice or feedback is appreciated!
EDIT: Fixed Dashie's teeth, thought it was supposed to be her tongue.

Hey it looks great! (you did paint Dash's upper teeth tongue-coloured btw lol)
Some pointers:
One way to colour from B&W lineart (if you don't have the PSD file) is to put the image on a layer with layer properties set to "Multiply" and put the colour on a layer beneath it, and your program will treat the white bg as transparent and the lines as opaque, allowing you to have the colours on their own layer. And when using the fill bucket to colour areas, depending on which program you use you can either tell it to increase the size of the area by a pixel or two, or set it to "all layers" and raise the tolerance a bit (in photoshop), in order to avoid the thin white lines where the colour meets the lineart.
But yeah, otherwise great stuff, theyre both vibrant and eye-catching so superb job, you even got Dash's mane and tail in the right order, I keep messing that up myself!

I'm glad you like it!
I'm more of a traditional artist myself, so trying to get back into photoshop has been a challenge. Last time I really had to use it was over 15 years ago... in high school. I will follow your advice for the next one, so thank you very much for that. I knew I was doing something very wrong, I just couldn't figure out where I went wrong. I also fixed Dash's teeth, sometimes it's hard to tell where you were going with the B&W picture, since teeth are also white. What made it really easy was the fact you always draw the color lines in the right places on the manes and tails. Maybe one day I'll draw something good enough to color myself. Just wondering, do you start with pencil on paper or do you go straight to digital?

I used to do everything on paper, but my best stuff is sketched digitally, on paper you can't undo or resize/move it's crazy!
Seriously I make so many mistakes I couldnt do without the lassoo tool to move and resize things, and I keep on trying to hit the undo button on my pencil thinking its a stylus.
Oh and what your art teacher told you in school? "Don't erase your mistakes?" That's utter bullsh*t.

Haha that's true. Ctrl+Z is my best friend when going digital.
