Description
This is it...its a test animation for me Half-Life Cartoon.I'm drawing the next test, where the background is moving with Gordon. I'll post that, as soon as i'm ready with it.
Hmm..still thinking about how the background should work..ingame screenshots, or hand-painted.. i think i have time to decide this.

That is so cute! I've always wished someone would animate Gordon eating some popcorn whilst watching the beam experiment at the start

*feels loved* here's a couple:
1) During the resonance cascade teleportey sequence, along with the creepy aliens, he teleports past one of the more humanoid ones while it is in the shower. It has a shower cap on, pulls the shower curtain to cover itself and screeches. (insert a couple of other scenes here) the same alien, with a towel around its waist, is on the telephone to another alien with "Portal Away" on his hat and a sign behind him with "Guarenteed banishment of any embarrasing teleportation portals in your home!". You can't understand what it says, but it is obvious the alien isn't pleased with the service it's getting.
2) Gordon comes across some headcrabs playing with a soccar ball. They're about to attack him when one suddenly says "Wait, he can go goalie!". They play soccer together, Gordon inexplicably pulls the torso of his HEV suit over his stomache footballer-style and runs around pointing in the air every time he scores a goal.
3) Two grunts have a slap-fight, whining "you bitch!" and "Awww, listen to yourself, sister" and other such weak taunts.
4) Five identical scientists gather in one room to work out their family trees.
5) Gordon does some action stuff (climbs through vents, pwns some bullsquids etc.), pauses by a mirror and produces and electric razor which he plugs into his suit, shaves so his beard is neat, puts the razor away and runs onward to do more action stuff.
I could go on, if you wanted...

I would go with handpainted, maybe even blured background so you spen less time working on it and it will look like a camera is focused on character. Just maybe...

Gordon looks so cute! xD I agree with the others about the framerate, but that can always be easily adjusted. I would love to see the next test phrase for this.

Great! It's good his eyes follow his writing. I vote that you take game screenshots and run a blur filter over them. That way if you really need a certain background and there's not really any screenshots available, you can paint it sloppily, run a blur over that, and people won't really be able to tell the difference.

Nekem mondjuk az elsö rész sokkal jobban teccett, de a második is jó... csak hát black mesa nélkül nem lehet jó kis half-life hangulatot csinálni... hmm... nem is tudtam jáccani a kettövel egészen kb múlt hétig, szal még frissek az élményeim... most nagyon a vége felé tartok már... mással is jáccom közbe... de mindegy, csak úgy mondtam...
A lényeg hogy tényleg teccik, szerintem tök ügyi vagy, hajrá neked

looking very sharp, the framerate is a little low but it's a test so that's no biggie. I would definitly vote for hand painted over screenshots for the background, you've got a great style and I think screenshots would only detract from it, plus it would be not too difficult to simply paint over screenshots. I'm apretty rabit HL fan and can't wait to see the finsihed product. Is it a personal project or is it going to be a series? *prays for series*

And your right..a hand painted background would look better!
About the low framerate: the animation gets faster, as you wait for this page to load.
I'm also, a great Hl fan..gotta love that game..the best i've played so far! lol

aww, I would love to flip on the tv and see this, you should get in contact with valve, you never know, they may like the idea and go for a series.
