Description
For this semester, there's a lot of focus on the question, "What is communication design (aka. graphic design)?"This is my rough poster to represent what I think communication design is - a mix of traditional and digital media, woven together with technology to create something beautiful. At the same time, it is fluid and flexible, able to answer the needs of society or the client.
The text, "communikation design is." was placed there to include typography, and the whole picture is supposed to finish off that sentence. It was spelled 'communikation' because regardless of language, good design should be understood by the target audience.
It's due on Monday and has to be further developed. >_< This topic isn't easy..

Thank you I was worried that the vectors were a little too hard on the edges but thankfully it turned out okay

Man, that sucks that your classmates didn't understand your concept people are always not thinking broad enough, I think
Anyhow, I agree with goblinqueen, I thin you executed your concept very well; you definitely fulfilled the assignment's requirements, and hopefully when the teacher reads your "treatment" or whatever they're called (I forget now i haven't taken art classes in 92348590435 since I had a falling out with them
they'll see that too!!
and just on a general note: this is really pretty! ^_^ the colors flow so well together, and I love the contrast between the traditional and digital art! even though there's a contrast, the colors help bring it together creating a unity... or something like that
awesome work!

The judging by our peers was done as a 'test' to see if the poster would actually communicate to the public. Most of us had good ideas, but they weren't expressed in their poster clearly.. that's usually the problem. :\ I'm not sure what my teacher actually thinks because most of the judging was by our classmates.. blah.. but anyways, I'm so glad you like it and understand it! ^_^

ahh yes, I gotcha. lol, I guess that's always the problem trying to appeal to the masses... most of 'em aren't on the same wavelength :/
but I guess thinking about it more, your ideas sounds kinda like an epiphany I'd have at 3:00am in the morning working on the project and thinking "MAN, it SO works!!" and then going in and people being like "...eh?" so I can see what probably happened

Hahaha yes, that's a good way to put it. My teachers like to say that poorly executed concepts are "narratives in your head"... that means only you can understand whatever the hell you're trying to say. I guess that's my case. We'll see how this project turns out, I still have another part of it to complete!

Lol my classmates disagreed, they thought I had weak concept because they couldn't understand it at first glance. Sigh But they liked how I executed it.. so it's not so bad
Thanks!
