Description All vector work done in Inkscape (except signatures which were done in Photoshop CS). This took many, many hours to do...I lost count after awhile.

Thank you so much for this, and all the features, Silky. I really do appreciate your support for my work, especially with the difficult circumstances you're working under now (lots of pain!). I just now returned from your page and read all about your troubles. I can't do anything but pray that you'll get better and/or will at least get rid of some of that pain. I hope everything will go well with the doctor!

Congrats! This piece of art was featured in Vectography Issue 2 found here: [link]

Well done

Wow!!! Two features instead of one (as I had originally thought)! Thank you so much...I can't tell you how excited I am to be among the vector artists at DA. It's not the easiest thing in the world to learn, but it can be extremely rewarding once you do.

Thank you. Wish I had more smarts in the vector area, but I'll keep on trying! Glad you like.

I know you can do vector art in PSP, but I haven't a clue!!!

It ain't easy. Even the tutorials aren't that much help. I just do trial-and-error stuff, and then read the tutes. That way, I at least know what they're talking about.

Thank you so much for the compliment and fave, Anita. I think of vector art as a lot of effort for scant results, lol! But it surely is a challenge, and I do want to learn more about it. It's sort of fun in a crazy way!

Thank you very much for the nice compliment! It took such a long time to do, though. I am working on another scene which is taking even longer! (wish I knew what I was doing...)

It needs a frog in there... and then I could see it on a Peace Frogs t-shirt.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

desmo100 In reply to ShutterMuse [2007-08-09 20:25:08 +0000 UTC]

I thought about putting a frog in there, because I've got lots of them. But I was working on a frog and pond scene and thought it might be "overkill" frog-wise! I haven't posted the frog scene yet.

ShutterMuse In reply to desmo100 [2007-08-10 02:21:50 +0000 UTC]

It really would make a great t-shirt design with or without the frog.

desmo100 In reply to ShutterMuse [2007-08-10 13:02:49 +0000 UTC]

Maybe so...it's fairly "flat" and 2 dimensional, so it should transfer well to a T.

desmo100 In reply to JennDixonPhotography [2007-08-08 01:49:04 +0000 UTC]

Thank you very much for the nice comment and , Jenn. Inkscape is a BEAR! I have been inching my way through the tutorial and also experimenting. I knew a bit about layers and objects through Photoshop, but Inkscape is better in some ways, more versatile. But it is hard, hard, hard to learn. If I stick with it (and I will, if I like the results!), maybe I'll catch on one of these days!

JennDixonPhotography In reply to desmo100 [2007-08-10 01:40:25 +0000 UTC]

I think I got through parts of the tutorial and glazed over. I might have to give it a whack some day. Again.

desmo100 In reply to LoriVintage55 [2007-08-06 20:00:59 +0000 UTC]

Thanks, Lori. I almost didn't post this one, though. It's still not quite "right" and I'm not sure how to change it. One of the nice things about working in layers or vector objects is that you can change things at will, and no one will be the wiser! But I can't think of anything more to add or subtract on this particular piece....I'll just leave it be for now! Glad you like it.

Thank you! Stars are really HARD to do right. I wasn't too happy with mine here, either...I figured the best way to do them was to vary the shape, size and brightness...but even so, they still look "not quite right." It's a challenge!

Thank you! I have to chuckle that vector art is so darned hard, takes so much time, and in the end, you get a "cartoon", in effect. But I have a feeling that much more can be done with it, so I'm going to try hard to master it.
