I’m not sure what you mean by “false”. Do you mean, as monotheism states about idols, that all earthly constructs meant to be incarnations of a god are false?
Or are you espousing a Postmodern Skeptic’s position about “societal constructs” in general, and the supposed societal construction of worshiping in Particular, be it an idol, a Transcendental God, or any metaphysical force whatsoever, are all false?
Your statement could be interpreted either way.
