Intoxicating and overwhelming... that urge to draw.Having never been a smoker, I've struggled to understand why someone would want to pick it up. While talking with an old friend who had started the habit again after quitting for a year, he explained it to me "It's like having you own window of time; a box which you know will be filled up only with this, nothing else, your mind can wander anywhere. You hold a small corner of the world to just yourself for those few minutes"
His words surprised me, that's just how I feel whilst drawing. It's my own little space I have to to myself, where I can let my mind wander, relieve my stress, and not worry about anything else. And believe me, if I am not able to do it I get grumpy! XD Like it's my addiction. I'd never thought of it that way before...
This is in no way an avocation of starting smoking though
The friend has since quit again and I'm very proud of him. I think my drawing addiction will be harder to kick, so I medicate with daily doses of doodling, and new sketchbook monthly, seems to do the trick 
Was having some serious urges after traveling so much I could fit barely any drawing in, can you believe it's been a month since I posted there?! Gosh, thanks for sticking around, you're great guys
So I drew this in remembrance for the month I gave up my addiction for Not too happy with the face, but I've got to get back into practice Peace, love and healthy addictions,

FINALLY! i am not alone,im not the only one! Drawing,for me is sort of something i was born with. when i was younger i'd draw my little stories and it was like i was watching a movie,only i was the one to decide what would happen,it felt good to do it,and so that was the start of my journey into the world of art....when i was 12 i had gotten way into manga and comics,but way more for manga considering i didnt care how cheesy they were,it was just the art,and when i was 13 thats when i had started to notice and critisize what i read,when i had begun to see fatal flaws in unsuccessful comics and manga, and many nasty cliche's. in all classes,in every grade,in every school ive gone too , in church, i would draw,draw,draw. people would bug me for it but i was fresh out of fucks for anyone who wanted their petty penny worth opinions said.and my teachers would pester me to do my work and pay attention and answer the questions they threw out to fish for students who hadnt given any shit. ididnt care about what anyone said about me.which is the best thing about drawing...iturned me into the calm,cool,confident and mature guy i am today. any who... i can relate to you, i know how you feel. but dont change.you just need to learn how to multi task and learn some moderation.p.s love picture.especially the glowy blue eyes thing.

Possibly one of your most relatable draws. I completely understand too. Its something you cant control, something that you yearn for more and more of. You cant stop. And frankly you dont want to. I understand you also about not being able to draw for a while. It happens. Some times you are just to caught up in something else, and you might not have time. Or if you are not able to do it. Like if you dropped your notebook full of sketches while you were walking out the door for a week long vacation in a different state or country or something. Some times you cant get on the computer or tablet to draw if it isnt charged, or broken, or someone else took it or is using it or something. And then when you finally are able to get back to a peice of artwork you have lost your inspiration. Your mind has a blank and it cant think because its been so long without being able to do art --its addiction. Sometimes too, you have this most amazing idea, but you cant remember how to draw it. Like a lot of times when im drawing someone, i just cant get the head shape right and it takes me a million tries. I get it. And this icture perfectly relays that. It shows true heart. The colors fit awesomely, and i love the image. The swirls as if it was a cigar look just wow. You can tell too, by the look on her face that she loves it, and she cant stop. Its an addiction. I love this drawing so much. Its simply amazing. Awesome work once again Destiny Blue, I love it!!

I want to say thank you so much for drawing this, never has a picture really related so closely to how I feel about drawing and art in general. I'm a student and I draw every day during my classes and every day I'm yelled at by teachers to stop drawing and pay attention and do my homework. But what they don't understand is that I can't stop, I can't concentrate when I'm not drawing and I wouldn't stop even if I could. Thank you, I love the messages you put into your art and it's just so beautiful.

Something has felt blured in ur recent pics to invorperate the written destiny blue name i live this idea but not 100 percent happy with its outcome not very often i can say that about one of ur pics

LOVE this. The coloring and her facial expression is spot-on. And OMG I feel the exact same way when I write. I guess I too am addicted because when I can't write it's like I get frustrated with the world. Again this is AWESOME!

Thankfully, artistic outlets aren't classified as addictions legally. We'd all have to be put in jail. There isn't room for all of us crazies who create random things. Besides, the world needs us. SO THERE! D8

This is exactly how I feel about drawing XD I get so grumpy if I go a day without getting a chance to draw anything (in fact my mum said I've been bad-tempered over the last few days because I've been working too much to fit in any art

I really like what you did with how smoking can be an addiction so u make it look like she's smoking but instead of a cigarette it's a pencil which shows how drawing can be an addiction and how u really love drawing but anyway instead of me going on and on on how amazingly awesome your drawing is ill just stop and say great job and keep up the GREAT work
