I see it as the dance of seduction..a technique most vampires have down as second nature. The lure them in with charm and good looks, and they are ever so willing to give themselves to the vampire when it's said and done. But, being vampires, they love to tease and play with them before actually feasting. Once he bites into her, the trance will be broken, and only then will she realize what is going on, but by then, it'll be too late.
This is the reason vampires do it for me, the seduction of their hunt is always beautiful.

I have been reading books by Christine Feehan The Dark Series....this reminds me of them. A combining of souls, a surrender of the mind and body to become a "lifemate" to that dark sexy man
