Originally uploaded some time ago I wasn't happy with it, so I took out the crown, changed the face and tidied up the shield. Possibly not as well executed as his better half, but what the hey?Related content

I really like the brickwork and the crest on the shield!

Thankees. The lion turned out a bit crap but I'm not overly fussed

I hadn't noticed the lion! I think he looks rather cute! Sort of like the monsters from Where the Wild Things Are.

He wasn't meant to be cute! He was meant to be proud, fierce, strong, all the lion-y attributes

Pence. Usually denoted by a little "p" after the number IE: 53p

Is pence then the lowest form or currency?
What about shillings?

Pence is now our lowest form of currency. You used to get half-pennies, but that ]as several generations back
Shillings are another oldschool currency we don't use anymore, they haven't been used since Gran's generation, although people will still use it as an expression IE "He's not quite the full shilling" translating into "He's a little slow mentally"
I so love our idioms

Quid is slang for pound. One hundred pence makes up a pound / quid
Just like in america one hundred cents makes a dollar

Debatably so. I have come to the conclusion that money is a non-optional religion which works as long as everyone keeps the faith. Due to the current political climate many people are having a crisis of faith, meaning great god moneybags is having a bit of a wobbly tantrum

Hmmmm, true enough.
Maybe I am just not that much into commerce, but I have a hard time imagining a world without currency. . . and maybe that inability is just what this sinister deity wants. . .
