Last year I had to illustrate a folktale and chose this one. I felt so bad for the Prince - his life just kept getting worse and worse!
Anyways, I love how ominous this feels until you look at Vasilisa herself.

Oh! Uh, actually, my apologies. I was confusing this story with the story "The Frog Princess"/"Tsarevna Frog." It has similar characters, and I'm afraid I didn't quite think hard enough about the details of the two stories before posting... My apologies, again! (Although this is still a lovely piece!)
