If I can act like I know things about the theory of comedy, I'd call that phrase something like a condiment. The joke works fine without that phrase - Fluttershy just saying in all caps 'NO WE SHOULD MAKE OUT LIKE SHE SAYS' is funny alone - but 'because of reasons' is so funny by itself that it makes the entire joke even funnier. I generally try to avoid using memes like that, even if they aren't too widespread, but sometimes I can't resist.

Season 4 Episode 23 Inspiration Manifestation. Spike gives Rarity a dark magic book and Rarity casts a spell that allows her to create things from her imagination, and the dark magic slowly starts to warp her mind. That episode is HEAVYΒ on the designs. Thanks to Rarity there's something interesting to look at just about every second once she gets the book.
