In 1999, I had a strange thought about the Powerpuff Girls using tampons (even though they were too young to need them!)
A year later, my younger daughter found some of our mother's pads in her handbag in the car. She asked what they were were (I was in the car at the time), and our mother told my younger daughter honestly and openly what they were used for.
I was once a bit frightened that when my younger daughter gets her periods when she was about 12 that she would make a mess (but she coped just fine). But I do understand that this is an important part of girls growing up.
Of course, Ms Keane would tell Professor Utonium about Buttercup finding tampons in her handbag, and Professor would briefly discuss with Buttercup about girls growing up too.
