Tanya Morris realized that she had a scoop on her hands. She knew what was behind the disappearance of several young men and women in vicinity of the abandoned Carter home. It was just a pity that she would never file the story. The two creatures who had turned the derelict building into a charnel house would see to that.

But that was not what fate had in store for Tanya Morris this night. A sudden gust of wind announced a new arrival followed by the sound of thunder as Valyn Star hit the first creature so hard Tanya felt the shock wave in her gut. The second creature didn't stick around, it turned on it's heel and took flight.

Valyn paused, hovering in the air over her fallen foe and turned to gaze disapprovingly at Tanya. "Woman, can you read?"

"What..? Yes of course I can...why?" Tanya stammered.

Valyn pointed to the keep out sign on it's high post, clearly visible. "Then I suggest you see your eye doctor, before you blindly wander into danger again. Clearly your vision is defective. Now, if you will excuse me..." And with that Valyn took off in pursuit of the second creature.

Tanya stared after her rescuer, her gratitude forming a slightly bitter cocktail with other rising emotions. "Okay I will...thank you..." She called after the departing heroine. "...Bitch!" she added under her breath.
