Incensed and livid, he discharges a string of angry words into the air. My arms are flailing around, as if to impede those words from hurtling at me. But still, they form an entrance into my ears. I can see the veins on his neck protruding. What happened? I'm not quite sure of the answer. We were just talking about something but eventually our discussion became aggressive when we had yet another disagreement. We seldom blithely agree on something. See what a merry couple we are?

As I try reasoning with him, he whirls round with his fists balled up in his ebony hair as he takes a few steps forward, letting out an aggravated sigh which gradually grows louder as he spins round again, facing me. Through his gritted teeth, he snarls, "I have had enough!" Klein swings the bedroom door open and strides out, raging me even more. Agitated, I holler vociferously at his retreating back, "Where the hell are you going? Don't walk out on me when I'm talking to you!" Klein deliberately disregards me as he exits our condo, slamming the door loudly, making sure that the sound is obtrusive to my ears. I bolt toward our bed and lay crumpled on it.

Infuriated, I grab a pillow, my fingernails digging into it and conceal my face into that pillow. "Good riddance," I mumble. I breathe in deeply, absorbing the smell of the pillow. It smells exactly like Klein's hair, the fragrance of his shampoo. The thought of him suddenly appears in my mind, lingering around. My thoughts are breached by a bark. I move the pillow away from my face and sit upright. Dale, our Dalmatian dog, stares at me with concern glinting in his eyes. I extend my arms and instantly, he dashes into my hug. We lie on the bed together as I rub his belly and glower at the ceiling. My blather on our recent spat turns out to be my lullaby for the night.

My eyes flutter upwards as something comfortingly warm brushes on my cheeks. Klein's ravishing looks come into view. One of the ends of that perfectly shaped pink lips of his curve slightly upwards, forming an adorable lopsided smile. For a while, we stare intently into each other's eyes.

"You came back," I say, breaching the wall of silence between us.

"Have I ever not?" He beckons me to come closer and so I snuggle up to him with his protective arms around me.

I smile. It's always like this. We fight, he leaves, he returns, we make up and the cycle continues. We're like oppositely-charged ions, Klein and I. We are pretty much the antonyms of each other yet we can't help but to be attracted to each other. We may appear as a mismatched couple but you know what they say, looks can be deceiving. Sometimes, Klein would be Mr. Wrong but when it's high time for him to switch back to Mr. Right, he would.

I love that trait of his. It keeps our relationship intriguing.
