Description
My custom Transformers Ironhide figure. As soon as I saw him on the cartoon I knew I had to make him.
Based on the TF:A Ratchet figure I start by ripping him apart, well unscrewing everything that could be unscrewed. Removed the flip out magnet thingys.
Sanded back the 'war wound' and filled in the gaps in the arms.
Removed the head.
Sculpted a new head in wax.
Moulded the head in silicon.
Cast in resin and created a new balljount socket in filler.
A new custom paint job and hes done

Wow, this is really, really nice! XD
I really like the smirk on his face, very Ironhide. ^^ It's too bad we didn't see too much of him on TFA

I'm not sure of any links, but you can kinda see the process in the head stages photo, I sculped a wax version, moulded it in silicon, cast a resin version from the mould and then painted it.
Thats about it really
I'm planning on some more heads so I'll see if I can do a 'how to' for them

OMG if that was in the stores I would buy it. You did an awesome job, you should really think about selling your figures and make a lot of money.

This is awesome! I think I like it even better than the Classics Ironhide figure.

Thanks...i'm not keen on the classics one either...I think all the classics are really blocky looking. The animated figures are far nicer to look at.

Thanks, Yes the head was made from scratch. The wax survived the moulding process so I might try and get some images of that up online too
