Im about to go insane because of the terrible quality of my camera so a lot of the shading is pretty much non-existient and it isn't sharp (partly due to my camera skills as well) Anyway, hope you like it ^^2H-6B pencils on 110gsm paper and used ps to tweak lighting
Took a few hours over 2 days

thanks so much!! thats what i had most trouble with actually ^^" I took about 30 pictures to try and get as much contrast as possible so had to adjust some of the lighting on ps

I know what you mean... contrast is what makes a drawing come to live...a black background also makes a pale face pop out immensely ^^ love it !!

haha I agree that contrast is what makes a drawing stand out but then theres the problem of DOING the black background but its worth it in the end even if i do go a bit crazy

that's indeed a problem, with charcoal sticks it's not so smooth, messy and not dark enough...
black paint is better but it's difficult if fine light hairs have to be scratched on top, I had that with Jang Dong Woo...the pink did not take ... so yes I go crazy too if that happens lol

Yeah I found that charcoal wasnt dark enough so I have to go over everything in my darkest pencil AGAIN! and its such a pain lol and I never tried paint before so I might try it next time

there's another option but I haven't trie it yet and that's ink with brush (like for chinese calligraphy)
If you use paint, remember to add 2 layers, one to fill the background and after drying another to remove brush stroke markings and make it even darker
