first time using airbrush, very very awesome tool. thanks to for lending me her airbrush for a week!
Trying to imitate drew struzan's style by making it look more graphical with the outline..
Acrylic paints airbrushed with coloured pencils on gessoed board.

This is the exact kind of thing I'm hoping to achieve with the airbrush I just bought.
Was it hard to use? Did the colored pencils go on smoothly over the paint?

The gesso makes the surface rough enough for the coloured pencils. But I guess a good set of coloured pencils would help too!

I LOVE Drew's work, it's so realistic but awesomely stylized, all the same. I know exactly what you mean and I think you've captured that well. I'd like to see this be part of an entire movie poster, like the ones he's famous for ^_~. The light/dark and warm/cool contrast works really nicely, too. Awesome job
