That this is how it was supposed to be.

When I leave,
You’ll know the absolute truth;
That all I really wanted was for you to hurt.
I wanted you to cry to yourself over your loss.

When I leave,
There will be no coming back;
We both know this, and yet you try.
But your broken heart won’t fix a thing.

When I leave,
We’ll see how much we really meant to each other.
I like to think we meant a lot,
But in a short time we’ll both understand.

When I leave,
It’ll be a long walk.
